Hello, my name is Dr. Darryl Carter, and I am, the Chief Operating Officer for Carter's Quail Store. We are a subsidiary of Tolenas Farm which is owned by my father John F. Carter.
Tolenas Farm was Established in Fairfield, California in 1978, in a developing rural city, where my father had retired from the Airforce.
We started raising rabbits for several years, and then built a processing plant, and had to expand our business due to the large number of customers and their need, for a State Licensed processing plant. During the early years a lot of our business was custom slaughtering for various breeders and growers that reached well over a 100 customers.
My father's diligence and many years of sacrifice allowed him to develop a thriving wholesale and retail poultry processing business for the rabbits, producing well over 240,000 rabbits.
Tolenas Farm populated the market, throughout the San Francisco, Bay Area, .etc.The Quality of our Rabbits and our ability to provide exceptional service allowed us to service prominent Accounts, which included most of the major Supermarkets throughout California, i.e. Raleys and Safeway were two o f the largest customers placing orders exceeding more than 1,500 rabbits per week. With the decline of the Rabbit Industry, We once again, endeavored to bring another specialty product to market, "Quail".
In the late 1980's, Tolenas Farm was once again found her niche product. We now have 4 and 5 Star Restaurant, Retail and wholesale customers. Harvesting and processing more than 15,000 quail per month, selecting only the very best Quality.
Tolenas Farm has built a great Reputation over more than 20 years.
